Letchworth Eagles are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Nunn as the new First Team Manager, effective immediately. Mark takes over the reins following the team’s successful campaign to maintain their status in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League, capped off by a 2-0 victory against Leighton Town Reserves on April 23rd, with Daniel Charles and Rory Gillham scoring the decisive goals.
Club chairman, Simon Efford, expressed his confidence in the decision, noting, “This was an easy decision as I have known Mark for a long time and know what a great coach he is. His dedication to nurturing young talent makes him the perfect leader for our team moving forward.” Mark’s commitment to the Eagles’ senior pathway is evident, as he has fostered positive relationships with the managers of the U18, U21, and U23 teams. This synergy is crucial for continuing to provide Eagles players with opportunities to progress through the ranks and aspire to compete at higher levels.
Mark has been a longstanding member of the Eagles community, deeply understanding and embodying the club’s philosophy. His popularity and respect within the club and the broader football community are well acknowledged. “Mark is a popular and respected figure not only within the club but also within the football community,” Efford added.
The Eagles finished the season strongly, securing 22 points from their last 10 matches. As Mark inherits this hardworking and dedicated squad, he looks forward to the challenges and successes of the next season. He plans to bolster his coaching team in the upcoming weeks and will soon commence preparations for the pre-season schedule following a brief rest period.
The club and its supporters are excited about this new chapter under Mark Nunn’s leadership, anticipating a season of great football and continued development of both players and club ambitions.
